Chaos Communication Congress

December 26, 2011 - 11:33 pm

Shame on me – I haven’t written a single post in my english blog for almost one year.

Well, there were not so much noticeable things this year. OFS is proceeding good. Not because of me but thanks to Peter who has improved support for NFS and cleaned up the code a bit.

Nevertheless, one of this years real highlights is just about to take place. I checked in to a Hostel in Berlin today to visit the Chaos Communication Congress starting tomorrow. I’m very keen on what’s ahead, since this is the first time I visit this congress – and the first time I visit Berlin.

Article in english Linux Magazine

As you probably know we wrote an article about OFS for the german Linux Magazin and the english Linux Pro Magazine one year ago.

Both, the german and the english article are now available online.

English: http://www.linuxpromagazine.com/Issues/2009/99/CONNECTIONS/
German: http://www.linux-magazin.de/Heft-Abo/Ausgaben/2009/01/Verbindungssuche

I really recommend reading it if you did not had the possibility to get the magazine.

We wrote about the concepts of OFS and our plans. We went a big step into the right direction, but there is still much work. For example OFS is much more stable today, but we still lack a decent GUI.

Take a look at the articles and share our ideas.

Diploma thesis and Master thesis online

Eclipse plug-in using EMF compare on GMF models

Yesterday I uploaded my master thesis. It’s about visualization of differences between EMF models. The compare tool for EMF (Eclipse Modelling Framework) models, which is called EMF compare and the GMF (Graphical Modelling Framework) has been utilized for this thesis. I developed a plug-in, which shows differences in a GMF-like manner.

For more information and download, have a look here.

Open-Source offline-filesystem solutions

In my diploma thesis I compared several network-filesystems and evaluated their offline-features. It has been online for a while, but now I moved it to my new website. I haven’t translated it into english language so it’s available in german only.

Download it here (german only)
